Ashmore

Postcode SP5 5AQ (Class of Bell Street United Church, Shaftesbury)
Ashmore Methodists first met at Manor Farm at the invitation of Samuel Hall 1768-1844. The original Wesleyan Church was built in the High Street in 1856. The village people are said to have collected flints to help in its construction. A hall for the Sunday School and Band of Hope was built in 1904 and in 1974 the hall was taken over as the Church and the original building sold. In 2010 a decision was taken to sell the chapel building due to concerns over costs of maintenance & Disability Access issues.
For well over 100 years carol singing has taken place on Christmas Eve in aid of NCH Action for Children.
Services are not currently held in Ashmore, please join us at Bell Street United Church, Shaftesbury.
